The Critical Power Supplies website is a fully functional e-commerce website designed to provide clients with a sample selection of the power protection products and services we can supply. These can range from small ‘plug and play’ UPS to large 3-phase UPS installations, accessories, power distribution units, generator hire, UPS health checks and replacement UPS batteries.

Do we apply a surcharge for ordering with credit cards via our website or when placing orders over the phone?

NO – Critical Power Supplies applies no charge regardless of the type of debit or credit card you use when ordering over the phone or internet.

What delivery services are available via the website.

Critical Power Supplies offers several different delivery methods which can be selected at Stage Three of the online order process.

Internet Orders

We provide the option to purchase some products online against a valid credit card. All credit card details are automatically checked through the check out process by our payment provider. Please note we only accept internet orders for credit card holders based in the UK and shipped to UK locations.

Products and services that can be purchased online are: priced and have an ‘Add to Basket’ purchase button. Products and services marked ‘Price on Application’ are subject to a formal quotation.

The internet purchase option is generally provided ‘plug and play, power protection systems, accessories and spares, up to 3kVA (32A). The term ’Plug and Play’ refers to an installation requiring either a standard BS style square pin or blue Commando type plug and socket. If there is any doubt we recommend a site survey.

Any order received via the Critical Power Supplies estore is processed accordingly and all customers have the ability to review their order prior to submitting it to us. Some items will have an estimated delivery charge and Critical Power Supplies may have to advise clients in writing of any additional charges due to weight, volume, handling or final destination location.

Ordering from overseas?

Critical Power Supplies accepts orders from overseas clients and these need to be emailed to the following email address for your security.

Upon receipt of your order, your stock will be allocated against your order and we provide you with a proforma for payment. Upon receipt of your payment via bacs transfer we will dispatch your order and provide a tracking number. International orders are shipped by road for Western Europe or Air Freight as required by each client. Orders for the Americas, Oceania, MEA are typically dispatched by Air Freight or as required by each client. All international shipments are insured and packed in export packaging.


Our website is a general source of information on the products we supply. Often contact with a Critical Power Specialist (via a phone call, email or enquiry form), about a specific product or service will lead to a formal quotation.

Formal quotations may be appropriate as a response to a tender document, published specification or general enquiry for a larger product solution, bespoke or non-standard product or service. Such quotations form part of our commercial offer.

Quotations may also be provided either ‘subject to site survey’ or following a site survey and client meeting.

Site Surveys

Above 3kVA power protection products tend to be hardwired and require electrical connection to a local mains power supply by a suitably trained and IEEE 17th Edition certified electrical engineer or contractor. For this reason we recommend a site survey by one of our Critical Power Specialists.

A Site Survey will be used to define logistics (delivery, siting and positioning, relocation, removal and disposal), environment, electrical supply ratings, power distribution, software integration, maintenance and general project planning.

At Critical Power Supplies we provide a FREE Site Survey service as we believe this to provide the best possible route to ensuring a first time and clean installation, especially for larger or more complex power protection systems. A Site Survey can be arranged online by completing a site survey form or contacting us.

Placing An Order, Payment and Terms

All orders are accepted against our standard Sales Terms and Conditions.

Confirmed and paid for online website orders are despatched subject to stock availability. Orders are confirmed via the check out process and automated email system. A VAT sales invoice is issued in due course.

Clients can also place an order on Critical Power Supplies by providing a suitably referenced, detailed and signed official Purchase Order. Purchase Order detail should refer to our quotation or website page URL, provide an official PO number, invoice and delivery address. Credit may be available subject to completion of our Credit Application Form and suitable credit checks.

Delivery Services and Logistics

All lead times are quoted from Order Approval and delivery dates are estimates. Delivery charges are those incurred through our logistics suppliers to effect delivery to your requested delivery location and to standard service days and times. If you require a specific timed service (pre 09:00am or upto 6:00pm on a Saturday) this will incur extra charges and can be ordered over the phone or via an official order.

Critical Power Supplies offers three types of delivery service.

  • Standard Boxed: a kerbside delivery to your building front door. Most consignments consist of one or more boxes and are delivered using a standard courier service. Single boxes are within a one person-lift limit. This is the most common service used and is quoted simply as ‘Delivery’.
  • Standard Palletised: as above but with the boxes secured to Euro Pallets using banding and possibly shrink wrap. The delivery vehicle may be larger and you may require off-loading facilities (fork lift) to remove the pallets from the vehicle unless a vehicle with a tail-lift is available or requested in advance. This service is used for larger quantities and is quoted as a ‘Palletised Delivery’.
  • Delivery, Siting and Positioning: this is the premium service whereby the Critical Power Supplies logistics team will deliver the goods exactly to your chosen delivery point. Pallets and packaging can be removed and recycled as part of this service. This service incurs an extra charge and may require a site survey. It is quoted as ‘Delivery, Siting and Positioning’.

Express Delivery Orders

Critical Power Supplies offers a range of Express Service options which are available within hours and days of orders Approval. For a guaranteed delivery date and time contact your Critical Power Specialist. All express orders must be prepaid. For a next day express lead time your order, payment and order approval must be accepted by 5:30pm.

Order Amendment or Cancellation

As part of the order placement and contract process, clients shall receive a Sales Order Acknowledgement. Any amendments must be notified to Critical Power Supplies in writing immediately via e-mail or fax. If amendments to an order are necessary, Critical Power Supplies will endeavour to ensure that these are made without charge. Where this is not the case and charges are incurred these shall be passed onto the client.

Cancellations are rare but must be made as per our Sales Terms and Conditions. Critical Power Supplies will endeavour to cancel an order if required but any associated charges shall be passed onto the client.

Payment and Credit Terms

First time clients are asked to 100% prepay an order unless a credit account is approved by prior arrangement. Payment can be made by credit card, cheque or bank transfer. Our bank details are available on request and a proforma invoice can be provided for the total amount via our finance team.

We accept all the major credit cards and normally without any charges. The exception to this rule is American Express where we need to add a charge for their fees.

Credit accounts are available for clients whose Credit Application Form has been accepted and authorised by our finance team. Typical clients with credit accounts include: companies, associations, organisations and charities. Credit terms are payment within 30 days of invoice date.

No orders will be accepted for overdue credit accounts. Overdue accounts may incur interest charges as per our Sales Terms and Conditions and be subject to collection via a third party specialist collection agency and/or the UK County Courts.

Non-UK clients and sole individuals are requested to provide payment with order. No credit facilities can be provided.

Public Sector Discount

Critical Power Supplies has pleasure in providing all Public Sector Customers based in the UK with a 5% discount on all orders.
