    The Eaton 9SX 8kVA / 7.2KW UPS offers high availability, flexibility and advanced protection for infrastructure, industrial, medical, IT, networking, storage and telecom. Delivering on-line double conversion protection in convenient tower, rack or RT format

    The new graphical LCD provides clear information on the UPS’s status and measurements on a single screen (in seven languages). LCD display position can be adjusted to offer the best viewable angle for tower and rack usage.

    Virtualisation-ready

    With an optional network card and Eaton’s Intelligent Power® Software Suite compatible with all major OS 9SX seamlessly integrates with leading virtualisation environments and cloud orchestrations tools.

    Extended runtime

    Eaton 9SX UPS allows you to increase the runtime by adding external hot-swappable battery modules, able to run systems for hours if necessary. The additional battery modules are automatically recognised by the UPS.
    Performance and Efficiency
    • Double-conversion topology. The Eaton 9SX constantly monitors  power conditions and regulates voltage and frequency.
    • With up to 95% efficiency in online double-conversion mode the 9SX provides the highest efficiency level in its class to reduce energy & cooling costs.
    • With a 0.9 power factor the 9SX delivers 28% more power than UPS in its class. It powers more servers than other UPSs with equivalent VA ratings and lower power factors.
    Availability and Flexibility
    • The internal bypass allows service continuity in case of internal fault. Batteries are hot-swappable from the front panel without powering down critical systems.
    • With its tower or rack/tower versatile form factor the 9SX can be installed in any environment (rack kit provided as standard on RT versions).
    • Stronger, longer battery life: Eaton ABM® battery management technology uses an innovative three-stage charging technique that extends battery life by up to 50%.
    • More runtime can be added with external hot-swappable battery modules, able to run systems for hours if necessary. The additional battery modules are automatically recognized by the UPS.
    Manageability
    • The new graphical LCD provides clear information on the UPS’s status and measurements on a single screen (in seven languages). LCD display position can be adjusted to offer the
    best viewable angle for tower and rack usage.
    • The 9SX can meter energy consumption. kWh values can be monitored using the LCD or Eaton’s Intelligent Power Software Suite.
    • Load segment control enables prioritised shutdowns of none ssential equipment to maximise battery runtime for critical devices. It can also be used to remotely reboot locked-up equipment or to manage scheduled shutdowns and sequential start-ups.
    • The 9SX offers Serial, USB and relay (dry contacts) connectivity, plus an extra slot for an optional card (Modbus, Network or Relay). 9SX also provides Remote Power off function. Eaton’s Intelligent Power Software is included with each UPS

    2: Hardwired (4kVA Upwards including Three Phase UPS) – Maintenance Contracts

    No matter what, your UPS, Generator, Cooling, Switchgear or Electrical Hardware must be ready to perform at all times. While every power solution we supply is backed-up by a comprehensive warranty with the manufacturer, maintenance plans to ensure business continuity are highly recommended, particularly for UPS systems from 4kVA. In particular, the battery set is of prime importance, and must be in good working order. With other consumables, such as fans and DC capacitors requiring regular maintenance and inspection logs reviewed to predict potential future problems.

    Infrared thermography is used to find areas of excess heat (caused by increased resistance) so that problems can be corrected before a component fails, causing damage to the component, creating safety hazards and productivity loss. Because increased heating is a sign of failure, infrared is the best diagnostic tool available for finding these hot connections in the early stages of degeneration.

    Switchgear maintenance is essential for efficient save plant operation and prolonged life span in the field Switchgear should be maintained as follows.

    • Live Maintenance – Unintrusive and consists of taking metering values, carrying out visual inspections and a thermal imaging survey of the switchboard. This is recommended to be carried out yearly.
    • Breaker Maintenance – Switchboard would need to be Isolated and all ACB’s and MCCB’s are maintained including visual and mechanical checks, greasing and secondary injection testing of the trip units. This is recommended to be carried out every 2 years.
    • Full Isolated Maintenance – Switchboard would need to be fully isolated from upstream supplies (HV). Breakers are maintained as per the above but also full maintenance carried out of the Switchboard to clean all compartments and carry out tightness checking of busbars and terminations etc. This is recommended to be carried out every 4 years.
